Macro Factor has worked very well for me. I got serious about it last October, and I'm down 25lbs since then.
I've focused on getting enough protein each day while staying close to my calorie targets and increased my exercise commitment. I'm preparing for my first triathelon in March. I generally exercise early so I finish running or riding just as my family gets out of bed.

One other thing I've been working on is the mental side of it. Being resilient against a day or week that you don't meet your goals is more important than achieving everything each day.
