In the last 5 years the screens have gotten so much stronger that protection is nominal in terms of improvement/protection. Yes, your phone can still crack, but no case or screen protector last 3+ years and no issues. And yes, I got crap at a company that made screen protection and cases since I didn't have either. But some of the designers admitted I wasn't missing any added protection.
