Obviously he is going after 1 and done players. That's great and it produces a ton of great PR when they commit. But that won't last if the team isn't actually winning and winning in the post season.
And in that fact that getting a bunch of 1 and done players isn't a proven formula for success. You never know how the pieces will fit and if they will gel. Usually success comes with experienced players with a balanced roster. KY has the challenge of building a balanced roster and yet finding a ways to feature the 1 and done players to the point that they still get drafted early in the first round. Not an easy challenge.
It is unlikely the young, NBA bound players are ready to lead a team deep into the post season. That comes with experience unless you have a 1 in a million talent on your roster.
Of course, none of this is new to KY. He has a plan and knows the challenges. I'm hopeful his plan will work and we lots of BYU tourney success.
