So you have one switch controlling the light and the fan?

The remote has buttons for the fan and a separate one for the lights. No chains hanging to control any of it.

Correct. The only way to control the light is either with the remote or the wall switch. And the wall switch turns

Not the remote but the little computer the remote talks to. It’ll be at the top

You can get a new remote kit for ~$15.. but if you are going to take your fan apart/down to do that..

Yeah, we already tried getting the new remote that didn't work. I like the idea of a smart fan. You're taking about

Yea.. At some point its easier to just buy a new fan (if you already have one, install should be simple)
