The distribution would be interesting to see there. I suspect a lot of teams

in the 80s passed for <100 yards/game, bringing the average down. But the teams that did throw the ball were throwing routinely for 300+ per game.

Defenses have just gotten so much better. Rarely do you see recievers wide open and that was commonplace in the 90s

True. Defenses have really adapted, especially going clear back to the Detmer years and beyond.

According to Grok - In the 80s the average passing yards per game was 204. From 2020 to 2023 it's 222.
