True. Defenses have really adapted, especially going clear back to the Detmer years and beyond.
They just aren't going to stubbornly stay in a defense designed to plug the middle and stop the run like they used to.

Defenses have just gotten so much better. Rarely do you see recievers wide open and that was commonplace in the 90s

I'd love to see the stats. My guess is that it has more to do with BYU playing a stronger schedule so our numbers are

According to Grok - In the 80s the average passing yards per game was 204. From 2020 to 2023 it's 222.
