I’d say “the best team” is irrelevant. There are just those who win and those who lose. Or at least that’s how it should
be.
That’s why expanded playoffs are better.
Arbitrary or subjective ideas of who is “better” shouldn’t matter in sports and don’t make a true champion.
Winning out in a fair process is what should create a champion in any sport. CFB has failed at this for a long time.
BYU may very well be better. But it doesn’t really matter.
ASU was deservedly and fairly the conference champion.
