The trouble is people want to see upsets like the CBB tourney, but it's too few
data points to get the upsets.
CBB has 32 first round games - plus 4 play in games - 36 games.
CFB has 4 play ins and 4 first round, - so 8 total opportunities for an upset.
Plus it's football, which is different...
Also, basketball gets a lot of mileage out of two or three upsets, which really isn't that many...but they do happen AND THEY ARE GLORIOUS!!!
