It's just pure math. Being up 26 or 27 is pretty much the same, but up 28 means
they have to do more than 4 normal 7 pt TDs to beat you.
Was it really necessary with how defeated CU already looked? No, but the standard rule book and when and why you go for two dictated you go for two.
