I don't really care - it just seemed a little contra everything that Kalani stands for as far as potentially running up the score. I don't think it makes sense to chase points by going for 2 early in the game. And it seems to make even less sense late in the game with a big lead.
The best answer might be that he wanted Jake to get a little more practice throwing the ball at the goal line and see if he could avoid an interception. Nope.
But seriously - has anyone from the team mentioned why they went for 2?
