If BYU had a great season with a senior laden team then this bowl wouldn't have the same impact on next year's preseason rankings. With a returning starting QB and a ton of talent returning, BYU will be a preseason T15 because at this point the team deserves to be T15 until proven wrong.

One thing that's been interesting this year is that our team has won a lot of games when expectations were low. I'd like to see our players and coaches mature into a team that can win even when expectations are sky high. For some reason, there's a non-trivial difference.
