Those computer metrics generally don't take recruiting ratings into account. At least not by the end of the year. They often start out by including priors (whether those are recruiting ratings or previous season performance tends to vary), but as the season goes on, those have less and less impact.

Secondly, we are not having players downgraded when they commit to us. We haven't been happy with the ratings of players that committed to us.... But it's important to realize that these were pretty much assigned BEFORE they committed to us and when lots of other teams were still in the mix. We can argue they are underrated, but it's definitely not in response to them signing with us
