You think he can't get in trouble with the NBA by donating major money to a college bball program?
There is clearly a conflict of interest and I don't think other owners (the NBA) are going to be cool with him bank rolling what could be seen as a farm club to his team.
I don't think is a huge stretch to be plausible.
