Yeah I think for the most part a lot of kids eventually catch up. I think with boys I’ve noticed the biggest difference
for the first time this year when my son is in 6th grade is 11 (almost 12) and is wrestling some 13 and 14 year olds who have hit puberty and are way stronger.
