Daughter got ticketed for expired registration (my fault) - pay or court?
Yesterday, my daughter was driving to school, got pulled over a deputy from adjacent county (they do have some reciprocal agreements I guess). Pulled over for expired tags, confirmed by him checking. Nothing else. Gave a $95 ticket.

This was my fault as I pay the registrations and somehow missed it. We get the card to renew, I go online and do it, but somehow I must've missed this one. So, I'm not denying it had expired. I got on and tried to register right then (and actually did another car), but it requires an emission test (expired 10/24), so now gotta do that before going to the DMV, ugh.

Anyway, my kid was going to an EMT final (practical) and was flustered so messed up and didn't pass, so has to go take it again next week. Boo-hoo, life lesson - gotta perform, especially as an EMT.

But it just bugs me that she was pulled over for a non-safety violation with no other suspicion of a crime. I know NY, LA, and even Denver (we are south of Denver) have said they are no longer doing that. Between that, the guy from the next county over pulling over people during school/work morning commute, should I just go to the court date in Feb to see if I can get it reduced. BTW, the registration for this 2010 vehicle is around $60/yr.
