My kids' favorite teacher for years has been the music teacher at their elementary and middle school. He is a member of the church and has taught the band, orchestra, and choir for years. All of the kids love him.

They had a concert last week and were supposed to have a party today during class to celebrate, but over the weekend, he was hit by drunk driver, and he's in the hospital in very serious condition. The kids came home saying that he broke both legs, but the email to the other teachers suggested that he was fighting for his life. Instead of celebrating, the students spent their party creating "Get Well" cards.

Situations like this make me think that drunk driving should be a candidate for capital punishment.
