you're getting the wrong Victor traps, you need the ones with the yellow plastic
...fake cheese looking trigger plate. It's wider and trips easier than the narrow metal trigger. Years ago we rented a house that had a terrible mouse problem and these traps worked the best with a little chunky peanut butter on it. It had a really high success rate with very few misses. I would set my traps at night before going to bed. Before I'd finished saying my prayers they were going off *snap!* *snap!* *snap!*
