I had this same problem about two months ago. I tried snap traps with PB, sticky
Pads with PB, a bucket trap with PB on the knife to get it to fall into the bucket, and a trap box with pb. The PB was always gone and he avoided the box.
I eventually got it after a week of frustration by cramming some red vine licorice onto a snap trap.
