I don't think folks are giving an undefeated Army with a win over Notre Dame
enough respect. I keep hearing that all BYU has to do is win the Big 12 and they are playoff bound. Rankings right now don't really matter, etc... However, if Army is able to pull the upset over Notre dame and Boise state does not lose again, I could see a scenario where both are ranked ahead of the big 12 champ, thus eliminating the auto bid all together.

I recognize that an argument could be made for a 1 loss BYU big 12 champion team still getting the nod over undefeated Army and/or Boise state, but I would not bet the mortgage on it. And if the big 12 champ. has 2 losses (like if BYU loses to Houston)... I think Army & Boise state would very likely be a higher seed. So I would not be so quick to say that an BYU win over ASU win leaves Army out of contention to pass BYU in the eyes of the committee.

And with the obvious SEC and B1G bias, an at large would probably need a some upsets to come to fruition.

Also, remember that the final rankings come out BEFORE the Navy game. So, Army would only play one more game for an undefeated season.

but overall a good write up, thanks!
