RE: BYU is 4th in 4th down conversion rate at 80%.
I've felt all season they've been playing with fire being behind the sticks on 3rd down so often.
RIGHT!? But that's the training of conventional wisdom.
If you know what you are doing, it isn't nearly as risky as it looks! After all, on 3rd and six, the defense will GLADLY give you 4 if they they think you are going to punt on the next play. But 80% at 4th and 2? BYU has them bamboozled.

Points 2 & 3 are valid, but I really think BYU's 3rd down conversion rate needs to improve. Like now!
