Just one example from my home:
It's 2:30 am on Saturday and I'd been watching with my two HS-aged boys. They were already extremely tired when the 4th down tackle happened and they both took off to their respective bedrooms, not wanting to accept what seemed like a very sad reality at that very moment, that Utah, of all teams, had ended our undefeated season.
Given the layout of my house, I couldn't yell to them to call them back, so I sat and contemplated if it was worth bringing them back, or if BYU would just stall out and disappoint them again. Then Chase made his catch.
Thank goodness for DVR.
I rewound to the point they had left, went and got them from the two opposite corners of the house, and brought them back to finish it off with me.
This season is the last one I'll have my oldest home to stay up until ungodly hours of the morning watching BYU. It gets me misty just thinking about it now. But the memories we've created this year in the darkness of our theater room are so indelible and satisfying.
Thank you Kalani and company.
Thank you Greg and Hans.
Thank you BYUtv sports production crew and game day crew.
