Vegas’ goal isn’t to predict the outcome of games. Its goal is to get 50% of the money on Team A and 50% of the money
on Team B.
BYU was originally favored, then more money went to UCF. And that isn’t surprising considering:
1. We took a miracle to beat Oklahoma State
2. UCF crushed Oklahoma State last year
3. UCF just barely lost to Iowa State, who is viewed as better than us
4. We’re on the road, on the east coast
5. UCF is a run heavy team and we just gave up 8,000 yards on the ground.
It’s an easy upset pick, which is why someone (or a few) put a ton of money on UCF. So Vegas moved the line to try and get more action on BYU.
