I know I sound like chief flyfishing evangelist right now, but we should try you on something simple like Tenkara on a
little stream.
Super simple system makes it easy to quickly get the hang of dropping that little dry fly exactly where you want it behind a rock or by an undercut bank, and see trout come up through the water and eat it.
50 of those on a cool afternoon while strolling through a beautiful mountain stream with one buddy or by yourself is a way different experience to the float tube on Stillwater thing.
If we get a chance to meet up, I’d take you.
The other thing I used to be (and still am very part time) is a flyfishing guide, so it’d at least be worth your money (free) 😉
