teams you don't play to lose; Rule 4: You want everyone within 10 in front of you in the polls to lose; Rule 5: You don't want anyone rank within 20ish behind you to win a major upset; Rule 6: You want the 3-5 teams behind you to lose or at least have ugly wins.

Just follow these rules.

For the "just win your games" crowd. I am a fan, not a player. I watch games and these are my hopes that don't effect the team whatsoever. Having a "just worry about your games" attitude does me no good because I love watching football generally and actively think about "which of these outcomes is most beneficial to BYU?" I can't control anything, so me "only focusing on 'my' games" is pointless and stupid. Great for players, pointless for fans.
