You play the game long enough, at a high enough level, and you’ll inevitably
experience the business end of it, a side of it fans don’t really understand and don’t have to deal with.
Players have a very different relationship with teams, programs, and the game itself than fans do.
Even fans should recognize that their appreciation for players is very conditional. Fans love players to the moon - as long as they’re playing well. The minute they’re not - get rid of em, on to the next.

I would be miserable. Dedicating so much of your life to something that ultimately doesn’t matter. That would suck.
