Its on by default for a lot of people, myself included. I think its something to do with your carrier.

RCS is on by default as long as they do the upgrade. So we just need people to upgrade already. My mom on seeing that

I always keep read receipts off. I don't want people to know if I have seen their messages or if I am typing.

Not the same features, some of the features. It is still a worse experience and texting Android users is not recommended
