your cruise isn’t leaving from Rome…but most likely from Civitavecchia which is a good hour or so northwest of Rome. But is easily connected by train.

Maybe spend one or two days in the city but your last night spend closer to the cruise port? Probably can find a cheaper air bnb outside Rome.
