Hard to think of a part of Rome that wil be exciting to that young of kids in a traditional way. Last time
we stayed at Barberini square which is close to a lot of sites (Trevi, Spanish Steps etc) but still lots of walking, busses & really old stuff. Good luck. It was a great location.
