Belboz Intervention Needed
Fantasy football is mostly luck, but stack the deck in your favor
Here's a scenario my opponent faces this week.

He has Jonathan Taylor.
Jonathan Taylor exited last week's game with a high ankle sprain. The sererity of the injury has been unclear, but a high ankle sprain is generally not something that heals in a week.

His only options on his roster on Tuesday to potentially fill-in for Taylor were:
Austin Ekeler - missed last week because of a concussion so his status for Sunday was unclear
Samaje Perine - He's nearly exclusively a third down back. Even with Carson Steele fumbling the ball away on his first carrier, Perine's usage didn't increase. Instead, touches went to Kareem Hunt while Steele sulked on the bench. Perine isn't playable in a 12-team league.

Trey Sermon was un-owned.
He inexplicably had 2 D/STs on his roster.

Instead of dropping a D/ST and submitting a waiver claim for Sermon, or another potential fill-in, he ignored the situation entirely.

In the meantime, I swooped in and grabbed Sermon as a FA on WEdnesday morning. I did not file a waiver claim on Tuesday for him, because I was certain it would be a waste of time and I needed to pick up 3 other guys anyway. Sermon passed through waivers so I grabbed him.

Jonathan TAylor has now been ruled out for Sunday and Sermon is expected to play in his place.
Fortunately, for him, Ekeler will play. That leaves him with a good option, especially with Brian Robinson's injury. Regardless, he didn't know Ekeler would be available on waiver night.

Anyway, fantasy football IS luck, but there are ways to tip the scale in your favor. When you miss those opportunities, you increase the likelihood of being unlucky.

maybe I care too much, but winning is better than losing, so I try to win. 🙂
