for sure know how things would look, and simply taking the AP poll as a substitute for the CFB Playoff ranking wouldn't really be an accurate thing to do. The Committee seems to generally value things like "Strength of Record" much more than the AP voters typically do of which BYU and Iowa State both rank in the top 10. I wouldn't be surprised at all if both Iowa State and BYU ranked in the top 11 of a hypothetical committee rankings as of right now which would put both of them in the playoff. I also wouldn't be surprised if only 1 of them were in the top 11, but there is a chance they both could be there.
