about the reintroduction of wolves into Yellowstone. The book doesn't mention wolves attacking humans, but it got me curious, so I looked up wolf attacks and there was a death in Alaska like 10 years ago. There were also plenty of others in Canada, and then in the 1800's wolves were attacking and killing people all the time. Often times they were infected with rabies.
But as I recall, there were many wolf fatalities in the United States...but the vast majority of them were in the 1800's when wolf encounters were far more common. Although there was a recent one in Alaska, and I think a three year old in Minnesota in recent history.
