Or at least not that I've seen clearly stated (though it's sometimes implied)
One take is "BYU got a lot of bounces and things going their way that don't normally happen. Kansas St is generally the better team, just this game was a weird one"
The other take is "BYU created all of those, that's who they are and why they're better".
But the real answer is (surprise) somewhere in between. BYU did a good job putting pressure on a young quarterback...but also got some bounces that won't always be there. Turnovers are almost never a one-team thing and Kansas St certainly messed up some on their own.
BYU got a lot of things going their way that don't normally happen and can't be counted on. The game was a weird one. But that doesn't mean Kansas St is (normally) better and just had an off night. It means BYU almost certainly isn't consistently 38-9 better if that game is played multiple times. But it doesn't mean that those can be completely ignored to say BYU is a worse team.
The margin of the score isn't fully indicative of the two teams... but it does tell a story still and has meaning
