The department I'm in has been fully remote for about 6 years with people spread across the country so this isn't just a return to office post-covid thing. I'm supposed to start working in the office soon where I'll be the only one on a team of 10 people actually in the office. All others will still be working from home since they live in other states or 2 hours from the office. In the next two years the others are supposed to move to headquarters or lose their jobs. Same thing on other teams in the department. I'm guessing more than 75% of the department will not be moving.
