He had to learn to be a leader, gain confidence, and grow from his mistakes. He finished as one of the best leaders and QBs in the last 25 years. I don’t believe it was an surprise that he would become a QB whisperer, because he has been there, himself.
Jake is a really good leader and loved by his teammates. I got frustrated with ball placement and accuracy, but he just seems to get the job done, this season, and is improving. His postgame field interview was really awesome, and I could seriously see why his teammates love him and his energy. I also liked what I saw out of Gerry, in his limited drive, last night.
