I got involved with family history six years ago after my father died. He had done amazing work over the previous 35 years. But I found errors in the work he had done and was able to push back farther on some lines he wasn't able to. New records are constantly being added and new tools like DNA weren't even available when the work was originally done. So don't assume it is al done. There are likely areas you could contribute.
