POLL: First car for teenager.
Looking in the $5 - $8k range and there seem to be two options. 1) costs $5k - $6k, about 15 years old with 150k-ish miles and no newer tech (bluetooth, ApplePlay, blind spot monitoring). 2) cost $8k - $10k, about 10 years old, 130k-150k-ish miles and has some newer tech.

I'm torn because the older/cheaper version (thinking a Lexus RX/CRV/Rav4) is probably built better, has fewer distractions for a new driver, costs less, and would be cheaper on insurance. But, because there is no newer tech she might end up playing on her phone and wouldn't have the blind spot warning or backup camera.

Those of you that have done this recently, which way did you go?
