At first I was skeptical, but I actually think I like it as long as Haw is not
actually in the conf, it's just a scheduling agreement, and they can't play in the CCG or anything like that.

The next Big 12 addition shouldn't be UConn or Gonzaga...it should be Hawaii

8 teams a year get 13 games? Isn't it just the ones that travel to Hawaii?

Exactly...the idea here is that 8 teams per year would travel to Hawaii

Payoff doesn't seem that great for Big XII

Maybe not a huge win... but free money/exposure is worthwhile even if it's not a huge amount

I actually agree about Hawaii, but the idea of every game in HI is probably not feasible.

Yeah, I listed it as 8 Big 12 games per year in Hawaii... but that number could be scaled

All of that for access to what is 5 P4 recruits this year?

I think the recruiting is just a perk, big advantage is Week 0 and 8 extra games

Again I don't see the upside. 8 games against Hawaii is going to bring in zero

I'm not a TV exec with all the numbers, but Week 0 looks like a big ratings bump

Can you explain how 13 games vs. 12 does not equate to extra revenue?

You could let Hawaii's program die and take all the recruits from the islands

The conf. is already too big. Unless the name is Clemson, ND or Florida St. we

What he's suggesting is just a scheduling agreement, Hawaii wouldn't be joining

That would be a bit brutal for Hawaii for a small bump in money. 8 P4 games

Small bump now, but the MWC TV deal is about to take a nosedive

Yeah, what team would ever choose Independence to get more $, more exposure and the chance to play better opponents?

Hawaii will always be in a no win situation. Geographically they cannot be

What if Hawaii randomly wins the conference after playing zero conference road games?
TCuz
Sep 12, 3:46pm
Well, they'd not be in the conference so they couldn't actually win it (see BYU and the PAC in 2021)

Hawaii should pay BYU $1 million annually to play there. The TV rights aren't

Sixteen additional games should give the conference 64MM.
