Is it though? Usually radiology calls a critical finding to the ordering doctor
bring it to their attention immediately. It hasn't been my experience that they call the patient. They usually rely on the ordering doc to do that

They didn't, but their impressions of my test were on my medical portal.

What did it say and why do you doubt it? The context is important to answer your question.

It's their legal (and moral) obligation to inform patients about urgent, "critical finds" like that.

If a radiologist finds a "critical find," then they have to get ahold of either the patient or ordering doc.
