No, that's just the issue. Reality is setting in with a lot of us.
Especially those of us who watched BYU win a national championship, or Ty Detmer win the Heisman Trophy. More and more it feels like those things will never happen again--AND IT HURTS. We are loyal to the royal, true blue Cougar fans. We will die BYU fans, but we fear the rest of our lives watching something different than what we grew up watching.

The coach speak from Kalani. The "all is well" facade we usually get from Holmoe. It doesn't erase what we are seeing with our eyes. We don't want to be talked to like we are ignorant. We have closely followed the sport for decades. We are aware of all the different dynamics. Talk to us on that level. Let us see that we are trying and not just shrugging our shoulders and giving up. Because that's kind of what it feels like.

Despite the disadvantages (honor code, money, etc.), BYU had an X factor. We could attract guys because it was a special place. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Even as a member of a power conference, top LDS recruits don't seem to care that there's a special spirit on campus. That it's a place with a divine destiny and where miracles happen.

Forgive some posters for using CB as the outlet to get these feelings out. Maybe it would be better to do it a home with the wife and kids, or the halls of church.
