Do you have another vehicle for taking longer trips? If so just get the EV.
I have a Tesla 3LR. It's my daily commuter. We also use it for all of our Saturday errands etc.
It's my favorite car that I've ever driven. I never have to worry about range on a daily basis. I saved thousands on gas over the last couple of years. I don't worry about running the A/C when it is parked to keep it cool.
I live in AZ (Phx area) have taken it to Utah twice and California once. The added time to make the drive is not fun, but I'd rather drive it than my minivan on those trips.
