The doctor needs to prescribe Cologuard and only for low risk patients
It definitely isn't for everyone and should only be used when correctly prescribed and. It is only a simple screening and does not diagnose cancer, just looks for certain abnormalities in the stool to signify a risk and recommend a full colonoscopy. I was considered low-risk, so my doctor prescribed it to me last year. It came back positive for "abnormalities" and my doctor told me to schedule a colonoscopy. I got it done and just in time as a few of the polyps they found were in the final stage before turning cancerous.
