Which is a lot of fun for the boys who get to play, and which is something that the parents all expect. The parents all think that if they aren't winning, then the coach needs to be fired. So there is some pressure on the coaches to win. Like I've said in other places, most these coaches aren't good and they don't know how to teach. They are basically just managers, not coaches. They can't fix hitting mechanics or pitching mechanics, etc. So the only way they can win is to recruit and focus on one class of boys every three years.
I will be interested to see how the new Farmington High coach does. He seems to have the mentality that the older boy will be given the first opportunity at each position. It will require development of the boys in the program to be successful that way.
