I'm not much help. Don't live in SoCal. People need to understand that removin
honeybees isn't easy. You have to remove each piece of the honeycomb carefully, so as to not destroy it, load it onto frames carefully (again without damaging it), capture all of the honeybees, all while wearing protective clothing in heat that makes you sweat like a sieve.

I have done it three times. Twice out of the ceiling inside a house and once from a tree they wanted to cut down. Each took 2-4 hours. It isn't worth the time to do, only if you find someone that does it as a labor of love like me. $250 is a great price, especially in SoCal. I haven't charged yet, but many times defer these jobs to people that do it for money...and they are all economically very poor because trying to earn a living off of doing honeybees on a small scale is worse than working at McDonalds...so you can consider the payment almost a donation to charity...

Honeybees aren't going to roam more than a few feet to protect their hive. No way is there any connection between that hive in a neighbors yard and a woman "almost" getting stung. Using the pond as a water source (or the pool too) can be a nuisance, but there may be another hive nearby too, so killing one off may not solve the problem. I would recommend to just let them be if you don't want to save them. Otherwise, keep calling - you might find a beekeeper that does it for free, but the property rights are tricky... Most bees die off in a few years without intervention from humans.
