Best way to remove these bees?
As said in the original thread, the bees have set up shop in an old sofa in the backyard of a vacant house across the street.
They are becoming a bit of a nuisance, as the pond is very near the pool. HCBW almost got stung yesterday while in the pool.

Called a couple local beekeepers, but they want $$ to remove the bees, minimum $250. I was thinking they’d love to get another free colony, but I guess not. Plus, they need permission from the property owner.
The current owner (the only heir to the guy that lived in the house) lives back east. We are in SoCal.

Since the house is vacant, the city will come out and remove it, but they do it by simply killing the bees. Hate to do it that way, but can’t continue on as is.

So, we decided to remove the hive from the sofa ourselves. And put it in our own yard. (valcorger, Aug 27, 2024 at 10:35pm)
