My oldest wouldn't accept any help that we tried to give. He's got a pretty big Pride streak in him, and wanted to do it himself - so he did.
My second is at BYU and got himself a job that treats him like a scholarship athlete. He doesn't get paid an hourly amount, but he gets tuition and books/expenses paid for, and some meals. He also gets a monthly stipend that helps with rent. He's been able to find some part time work that helps make up the shortfall for rent, and gives him some spending money.
My youngest will be starting this fall at UVU. He's got some savings built up, but not enough for four years - so we'll see how it goes with him. He'll be living with us at least to start, so that will help stretch his savings.
