I drove from SLC to my office in Park City for a few decades.. If you are worried about snow, get something that is 'All-Weather' rated (the snowflake logo)
Bridgestone Weatherpeak
General Altimax
Firestone Weathergrip
... a few others.
IMHO, Just check the user reviews on Tirerack ( specifically the snow section).. It has never been wrong for me 🙂
The problem you will have with All-Weather tires is how fast they will wear in the southern Utah heat. Ceader won't be as bad, but if he spends much time 45 minutes south in St. George often... expect to replace them faster than normal.
But honestly, he shouldnt have any problem with a good set of all-season with a decent 'snow' review (from tirerack).
