that QB is LDS, UNLESS, the NIL boosters are willing to and BYU allows them to be paid and or decides to play that game. The QB would be paid much more than anyone else on the roster.
There is just too many teams with big NIL money, willing to pay a QB huge dollars now. It used to be BYU had a great shot with the top LDS QB's out there but that is less now due to the money. It's just too much money to turn down in most cases. Now BYU may get lucky and occassionally pick up a top LDS QB recruit just because he wanted to go to BYU his whole life (and doesn't care about the money) but are more than likely going to need to pay them now to get them to come, IMO.
It will be interesting to see how this unfolds now as NIL and even team profit can be shared when the next top LDS QB comes up for recruitment. Heck if BYU/NIL boosters really wanted to and was able to they could go after any top QB recruit. LDS or not!
Will BYU play the game with football, like they have with basketball? (way more players on a football team) or will they continue to go to the portal and try to find those diamonds in the rough and develop them?
