He was NOT the level of talent that was best-served trying to prove his mettle at the revolving talent door at a place like Duke.
Chris needed a coach who was gonna commit fully to him — & kick his butt hard. And would've been patient with him through the injuries.
As for his bro, David — a lot of coaches were wise to the fact he was over-hyped. He clearly wasn't as good as his brother — who himself shouldn't have been rated as high as David was. Let alone higher than Lamar Odom (which is where a lot of national recruiting scouts put Chris).
I remember watching David & wondering how he got hyped as highly as he did. That said, BYU under Cleve & Rose was NOT a good a destination for Bigs at all. The opportunities for touches in the offense were poor. And the opportunity for development was even poorer.
