Yes, open an LLC. There are some one here who basically say, "there are some unique cases in which the protections of
the LLC might be by passed, so you may as well not have one. That is silly in my opinion. Always better to have one then not. These people have never seen an insurance company try to get out coverage before. Always best to have lines of defense. Word to the wise, DO NOT elect for s-corp treatment for an LLC that will own rental property. One of the most common mistakes that we see.
