Neither were Utah and Arizona St, but they were kind of forced into it when their conference crumbled.
The major difference here is that Utah and Arizona St weren't the reason the conference crumbled. It was about USC and UCLA (and eventually Oregon and Washington) to the B1G.
The ACC doesn't crumble unless Florida St and Clemson make it happen. And they don't make it happen unless they like the alternatives.
I'm reading posts here about FSU/Clemson having no leverage and having to take whatever Yormark offers...but people seem to forget that they'd also always have the existing ACC as an option
